Construction Helper

Fine Drywall has been serving the greater Vancouver area for more than 15 years. We provide a wide variety of drywall and related services for the commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential markets. We are currently seeking self-motivated individual to fill full-time Drywall Cleaner/Helper position in our company.

Primary Responsibilities- Drywall Cleaner/ Helper

  • Clean and prepare surfaces.
  • Remove drywall and other debris at construction sites.
  • Mix, pour and spread materials.
  • Load, unload, and transport construction materials.
  • Clean and pile salvaged materials.
  • Handling and maintaining work equipment in good condition such as ladders, hoses, and more.
  • Clean multi level commercial and residential buildings through various stages of construction.
  • Maintain cleanliness at job sites.
  • Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, and heavy debris.

Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry heavy weight
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks.

Drywall Finisher

Fine Drywall has been serving the greater Vancouver area for more than 15 years. We provide a wide variety of drywall and related services for the commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential markets. We are currently seeking a self-motivated individual to fill a full-time Drywall Finisher position in our company.

Primary Responsibilities- Drywall Finisher

  • Clean and prepare surfaces
  • Mix plaster ingredients in trough to desired consistency
  • Apply, level and smooth coats of plaster using trowels & floats.
  • Finish corners and angles in finish coat
  • Cure freshly plastered surfaces
  • Mould and install cornices and trim
  • Spray acoustic materials or texture finish over walls and ceilings
  • Joining drywall panels using tape and plaster.
  • Repairing cracks and any other damage to the drywall panels.
  • Concealing any imperfections or exposed irregularities in the drywall surface.
  • Layering plaster with trowels to create a flat surface.
  • Sanding down rough areas on the wall to create a smooth surface.
  • Skimming the surface with a final layer of plaster in preparation for finishing work.

Requirements:

  • Proven work experience in the Construction industry as a Drywall Finisher.
  • Familiarity with various hand and power tools like mixer, straightedges, and measuring tapes 
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations 
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently 

Trade certification is an asset but not compulsory.

Drywall Installer

Fine Drywall has been serving the greater Vancouver area for more than 15 years. We provide a wide variety of drywall and related services for the commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential markets. We are currently seeking a self-motivated individual to fill a full-time Drywall Installer position in our company.

Primary Responsibilities- Drywall Installer

  • Measure the drywall panels 
  • Cut and fit drywall sheets for installation on walls and ceilings
  • Position and secure sheets to metal or wooden studs or joists
  • Cut and install metal corner beads to protect exterior corners
  • Install and fasten drywall panels to the inside framework of building
  • Prepare panels for finishing by taping 
  • Prepare panels by sawing, drilling, or cutting holes in panels for electrical outlets, air-conditioning units, and plumbing.

Requirements:

  • Proven work experience in the Construction industry as Drywall Installer 
  • Familiarity with various hand and power tools like screw guns, straightedges, and measuring tapes 
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations 
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Site Foreman

Fine Drywall has been serving the greater Vancouver area for more than 15 years. We provide a wide variety of drywall and related services for the commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential markets. We are currently seeking a self-motivated individual to fill a full-time Drywall Finisher position in our company.

Primary Responsibilities- Site Foreman

  • Act in a reasonable manner in all situations that arise.
  • Coordinating work according to priorities and plans.
  • Read/comprehend project drawings.
  • Ensure manpower and resources are adequate.
  • Sign off / approve sub trades invoices for work performed on site.
  • Perform site layout when required.
  • Attend daily or weekly site meetings and reports to Operations Manager.
  • Perform onsite material & quantity take-offs.
  • Check Quality of work performed by crews and provide feedback.
  • Prepare QAQC as per FDL’s standards and submit to Operations Manager
  • Track and submit detailed report of any extra work performed on site.
  • Ensure all safety precautions and quality standards are met.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a construction foreman.
  • Minimum 5 years of trade experience
  • Problem solving and organized.
  • Excellent organizational, leadership and communication skills.
  • Proficient in use of iPad/android tablets to read drawings
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks 

Trade certification is an asset but not compulsory.

Steel Stud Framer

Fine Drywall has been serving the greater Vancouver area for more than 15 years. We provide a wide variety of drywall and related services for the commercial, industrial, institutional, and residential markets. We are currently seeking a self-motivated individual to fill a full-time Steel Stud Framer position in our company.

Primary Responsibilities- Framer:

  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of lightweight steel.
  • Fit and fasten board into specified position on wall, using screws if required.
  • Fasten metal track to the structural framework of walls, ceilings, or partitions of buildings, using nails, screws, or wire ties
  • Cut and screw together metal channels to make floor or ceiling frames, according to plans for the location of rooms or hallways.
  • Construct and install metal stud framing and furring for interior walls and exterior walls. 
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and joint structures made of lightweight steel.
  • Install bulkhead & ceilings as per drawings.
  • Using hand and power tools like straightedges and ladders when performing daily activities 
  • Measuring and marking the metal frames using chalk lines or laser levels to avoid any miscalculation 
  • Cutting studs and metal runners to the specified measurements 

Requirements:

  • Proven work experience in the Construction industry as a Metal Stud Framer, 
  • Familiarity with various hand and power tools like pneumatic guns, straightedges, screw guns and measuring tapes 
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations 
  • Displaying good physical and mental strength 
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently
